McLAREN VALE REGION

McLaren Vale
Producers is located in the heart of the McLaren Vale premium wine region.  Between the townships of McLaren Vale and Willunga, ten minutes from divine coast line, swimming beaches, great fishing and some of the best dining in South Australia.

McLaren Vale Wine region is located less than an hour by car from Adelaide (39 kms South), the capital city of South Australia.

Direction
By car from Adelaide you travel along South Road and enter McLaren Vale via the Adelaide to Victor Harbor Road.  On weekends the Southern Expressway offers a convenient route.

Mediterranean climate, spectacular coastline and lovely swimming beaches are features of the McLaren Vale region.


McLaren Vale Township
The McLaren Vale town centre is the commercial hub of the McLaren Vale Wine Region on the Fleurieu Peninsula. The two small townships of Bellevue and Gloucester were amalgamated to form McLaren Vale.  The area has a long history of wine production and is now one of the premium wine producing areas in Australia with exceptional eateries.  The main road has many friendly locals offering a taste of the region, Market 190 on the main road offers great coffee and meals; Brian's Olive Shop has everything olive including hand crafted olive wood products; Blessed Cheese offers a cheese and wine-matching journey across the Vale.  Crush, on the main road, has stylish gifts - lotions, children's toys, quality bookstore and a wonderful array of treats for the body and mind.  Dridan's Art Gallery within the Hardy's Tintara complex on the main road is a wonderful art gallery and local craft store.

FOOD AND WINE
Food and wine are two very good reasons to visit McLaren Vale.  The Vale has world-class premium wines offered in many intimate cellar doors, over seventy at last count!, and matched to local food at renowned regional restaurants and winery eateries.  For exceptional dining visit award winning regional restaurants Salopian Inn and d'Arry's Verandah (winner of Best Winery Restaurant at the Restaurant and Catering South Australia Awards in 2006) and Pennys Hill Winery Restaurant (winner of Best Winery Restaurant in 2007). 

The Willunga Farmers' Market offers fresh produce direct from the growers and makers of the Peninsula and welcomes you every Saturday morning from 8.30am to 12noon.  Fino restaurant on the Main Road offers rustic and refined fare... a foodie's haven and named by Gourmet Traveller as one of the top regional restaurants in South Australia.  Russell's Pizza, open on Friday nights, seasonal food from the wood fired oven is a convivial shared meal for visitors and a favourite pizza restaurant with locals.  Minko's Wine & Providore is the place to buy Andy's baguettes - a local treat, Hindmarsh Valley goat cheeses, Minko's wines and many local food specialities.

HEAD TO THE COAST....

Swimming beaches, fishing, diving, surfing, boating... Fleurieu Peninsula Coastline offers coastal activities for everyone.
