PRODUCERS OF McLAREN VALE

McLaren Vale's Mediterranean climate attracts lovers of olives and vines, a region where producers of every kind flourish.  David Arbon and Tori Moreton have been amongst these passionate regional producers for many years, as growers of mostly dry grown and organic fruits farmed for flavour making wine, olive oil, preserves, vinegar and apple cider.

Producers of McLaren Vale is our way of sharing the good life with guests - winemaking, olive oil processing, pickling, preserving the fruits of the farm, and regional produce from McLaren Vale and the entire Fleurieu Peninsula.

Architect Max Pritchard brought the dream to life in his design of a luxurious space set to inspire making and enjoying food and wine in a processing room, commmercial kitchen, cellar and dining rooom wrapped around a Spanish style courtyard.  Producers is on Branson Road nestled amongst native flora with views of vines to Willunga Hills.

The Producers grow for flavour, with a holistic approach to agriculture where care of the environment, wildlife and future of the region are part of everyday management.  Caring for the 80 acre Vineyard means allowing the vines to flourish in harmony with the soil, climate and season, like our 80 year old Shiraz grapes that are dry grown and in balance.

The Producers operate with organic principles, no pesticides are used, we practice zero tillage and dry grow or use minimal watering, only for younger vines.

The Olive Grove is organic and dry grown. Extra Virgin Olive Oil is produced from Greek Koroneiki (packed full of flavour), French fruity Verdale and Italian golden Frantoio.  Pickled olives are produced from Greek Kalamata and Spanish Queen.
The Almond Grove is a blend of ancient trees of forgotten stock alongside the region's popular commercial varieties such as Johnstons.

Our organic Orchard is a mixture of fruit and nut trees  - Oranges, Lemons, Mandarins, Quinces, Pears, Apples, Walnuts, Mulberries, Plums, Apricots, Nashi, Fijoa, and Figs.

The Free Range Chickens provide a bounty of the-best-ever-eggs for our Menu and Guest breakfasts.

Native flora and fauna features ancient gum trees with recent plantings of native understorey; grasses and ground cover lining the winter creek attract native fauna, an abundant bird life including a resident family of kangaroos.
